Blackjack, or 21, is played with 6 standard decks of 52 cards. The object of the game is to come closer to 21, without going over 21, than the dealer does.

10's and face cards count as 10, and all other cards are worth their face value except for aces, which may be used as a 1 or an 11. Suits are insignificant.

The player makes his bets by clicking on the chips he wishes to wager and then clicking the 'Deal' button. The dealer will then deal two cards each to the player and himself. If the player's cards are an Ace and a ten-value card, the hand is a Blackjack and will be turned up immediately. If a Blackjack wins it will be paid one and a half times the bet. When the player does not have a Blackjack, he will be given the opportunity to make one of 4 choices. Take additional cards - 'Hit', double his bet and receive only one more card - 'Double Down', split any equal value cards - 'Split', or if he is happy with his hand he may 'Stand'. A player may hit as many times as desired until he is satisfied with his total and 'stands' or he 'busts' by going over 21. This also applies to the new hands played after a player 'splits', except when a player splits aces, he can only take one card.

After the player 'stands' the dealer will then play out his hand. The dealer will always take cards until his total is seventeen or higher. If the dealer 'busts' he will pay all remaining player hands.

An optional bet offered in Blackjack is insurance. This will be offered any time that the dealer has an Ace as his exposed card. A player should make an Insurance bet if he believes that the dealer does have a Blackjack. The player may bet up to half of his original wager, and the bet pays 2 to 1 if it wins.
